A carbon steel, wooden handle setter / brick layers trowel, ideal for smoothing out when laying. The wooden handle can be used to gently tap down and bricks already  pressed into the setting compound for better adhesion.

The example shown above, details a Setter Trowel being used to butter the side of a brick with mortar. It also works well when spreading mortar across a bed of bricks when building brick walls as the trowel can also be used to smooth out the mortar, allowing bricks to be firmly bedded into the compound.
